AT the NMSU Swimming &#038; Diving Complex, on day two of the Sun Belt Fall Classic, it was the tandem of sophomore diver Megan Balkenbush and freshman Viktoria Molnar who continued to make names for themselves in only the second weekend of the new FIU program. <\/p>\n<p>Balkenbush bounced back from a second and fourth-place finish on Friday night to take first-place honors on Saturday in the one-meter and second in the three-meter. The junior diver from Ft. Collins, Colorado won the competition, scoring 244.35 points for top honors. Plus was runner-up in the three-meter (255.50), just 3.10 points shy of first.<\/p>\n<p>The Nagyvenyim, Hungary native was first in the 100-yard butterfly and second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.92). Molnar also contributed to the Golden Panthers\u2019 by anchoring a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay. Also, in the 200-yard freestyle fellow freshman Kate Van Houten was fifth in 2:00.16.<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Panthers also received strong performances from junior Tiffany Haynes, who was fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.37) and in the 50-yard freestyle, junior Joyce Fuhrman tied for fifth (26.15) with Emi Tudose of North Texas and FIU teammate Carly Crandall was seventh (26.36).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Las Cruces, N.M., October 26.
