A more competitive contest on the men&#8217;s side went to the Yellow Jackets by a 169-131 margin. Throughout, the meet featured plenty of extremely competitive races, with three of the four relays coming down to less than a half-second margin.<\/p>\n<p>The Gamecock women won the 200 medley relay with\u00a0<strong>Amy Riordan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Annaliese Streeter<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Greta Pelzek<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Dylan Scholes<\/strong> clocking 1:38.13, holding off a surging Georgia Tech squad (1:38.29). Riordan came away ahead of the field in the 100 backstroke (52.90) and 200 backstroke (1:54.81), with Pelzek topping the 200 butterfly in a strong time of 1:53.93. Pelzek returned to capture her third win over all in the 100 fly (52.47).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emma Reiser<\/strong> captured first place in the 1000 freestyle (9:48.67), followed by\u00a0<strong>Ellery Ottem<\/strong> winning the 200 free (1:46.02).\u00a0<strong>Peyton Curry<\/strong> won the 50 free (22.46) and 100 free (48.88), followed by\u00a0<strong>Delaney Franklin<\/strong> winning the 200 breaststroke (2:12.31) and\u00a0<strong>Nora Fluck<\/strong> coming away first in the 500 free (4:45.90).<\/p>\n<p>In diving, South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sophie Verzyl<\/strong> finished first on 3-meter (362.85) and 1-meter (292.05), and\u00a0<strong>Delaney Franklin<\/strong> dominated the 400 IM with a time of 4:13.12. And in another competitive relay, Curry, Riordan, Otten and Scholes finished first in the 400 free relay in 3:16.47.<\/p>\n<p>The Yellow Jacket women got their lone win from <strong>Sabyne Brisson<\/strong> in the 100 breast (1:00.68)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college swimming news<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Georgia Tech&#8217;s men started strong when\u00a0<strong>Berke Saka<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Uros Zivanovic<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Leandro Odorici<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Robin Yeboah<\/strong> took first in the 200 medley relay in 1:25.97, coming from behind to finish ahead of South Carolina by just a tenth. Odorici won the 50 free (20.09) with Yeboah finishing second while <strong>Ricky Balduccini<\/strong>, Odorici and Yeboah led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 free, with Balduccini touching in 44.04. Balduccini earned a second win in the 100 fly (46.99).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mert Kilavuz<\/strong> dominated the 1000 free (9:01.61), and teammate\u00a0<strong>Vitor Sega<\/strong> won the 200 free (1:36.39). Saka touched first in the 200 back in 1:43.01, holding off hard-charging Gamecock\u00a0<strong>Kaden Smesko<\/strong> (1:43.11).\u00a0<strong>Max Fowler<\/strong> placed first in 3-meter diving (381.68), and Odorici, Yeboah, Saka and\u00a0<strong>David Gapinski<\/strong> rounded out the day with a winning mark of 2:55.02 in the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>The Gamecocks&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Michael Laitarovsky<\/strong> finished first in the 100 back (46.52), and teammate\u00a0<strong>Linus Kahl<\/strong> topped the 100 breast by one hundredth over Zivanovic, 43.50 to 53.51. Kahl later won the 200 breast as well, clocking 1:56.41.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tommy Eaton<\/strong> came away first in the 200 fly (1:44.48), and\u00a0<strong>Connor Fry<\/strong> was first in the 500 free (4:24.28). South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charlie Bayer<\/strong> won 1-meter diving (349.65), with\u00a0<strong>Raymond Prosinski<\/strong> claiming the team&#8217;s final win of the day in the 400 IM
