Freshman\u00a0<strong>Leah Shackley<\/strong> won three individual events and contributed to a winning medley relay squad as NC State won 170.5-129.5, and sophomore <strong>Daniel Diehl<\/strong> led the NC State men to a 165-134 win.<\/p>\n<p>NC State&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Erika Pelaez<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Aubree Brouwer<\/strong>, Shackley and\u00a0<strong>Olivia Nel<\/strong> recorded a time of 1:34.26 in a 200 medley relay win, with Nel splitting 21.39 to pull away from UNC&#8217;s anchor swimmer, her twin sister\u00a0<strong>Georgia Nel<\/strong>.\u00a0Shackley blasted a time of 1:54.30 for the top spot in the 200 butterfly, and she blasted a mark of 1:50.56 to win the 200 back. In her third win of the day, Shackley clocked 50.90 in the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Pelaez won an individual victory in the 200 freestyle (1:45.79), and\u00a0<strong>Kennedy Noble<\/strong> clocked 50.75 for a win in the 100 backstroke. After finishing second to Shackley in the 200 back, Noble swam a mark of 1:56.38 to win the 200 IM. The Wolfpack&#8217;s <strong>Chase Travis<\/strong> topped the 1000 free (9:33.38) and 500 free (4:44.15), and<strong> Tyler Driscoll<\/strong> tied with UNC&#8217;s <strong>Greer Pattison<\/strong> atop the 50 free, with both swimmers clocking 22.07. Olivia Nel won the 100 free (48.29), and she anchored the NC State 400 free relay, joining\u00a0<strong>Lily Christianson<\/strong>, Pelaez and\u00a0<strong>Casaundra Moses<\/strong> to win in 3:12.95.<\/p>\n<p>The Tar Heels got on the board as <strong>Skyler Smith<\/strong> won the 100 breaststroke in a strong time of 58.49, and she returned to post a time of 2:08.85 in the 200 breast, beating NC State&#8217;s <strong>Lisa Nystrand<\/strong> by four hundredths.\u00a0In diving, <strong>Aranza V\u00e1zquez Monta\u00f1o<\/strong> placed first in 3-meter (339.30) and 1-meter (315.80).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college swimming news<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gopack.com\/sports\/swimming-and-diving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wolfpack<\/a> men won the 200 medley relay by three tenths as\u00a0<strong>Quintin McCarthy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sam Hoover<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Luke Miller<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Drew Sallas\u00a0<\/strong>posted a time of 1:22.98. Miller grabbed the win in the 50 free (19.32), and he returned to win the 100 fly in 44.97. Meanwhile, Diehl swam a time of 1:32.75 to finish atop the 200 free before winning the 200 back in 1:39.62. In his third individual race, Diehl held off UNC&#8217;s <strong>Louis Dramm<\/strong> in the 200 IM, 1:42.58 to 1:42.75.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lance Norris<\/strong> was the best of NC State&#8217;s distance stars in the 1000 free, clocking 8:43.60, and he added a triumph in the 500 free (4:20.19). <strong>Kaii Winkler<\/strong> finished in 42.04 to take first in the 100 free, and he led off the 400 free relay, combining with\u00a0<strong>Hudson Williams<\/strong>, Miller and Hoover to win in 2:49.80.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Walker Davis<\/strong> won the 100 back for North Carolina with a time of 46.13, followed by <strong>Ben Delmar<\/strong> posting a blazing time of 51.44 in the 100 breast.
