FLASH! Gretchen Walsh Lowers Own WR In 100IM<\/h4>\n

Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> lowered her 100IM world record to 55.71 in the semis at short-course worlds in Budapest.<\/p>\n

The USA swimmer posted 56.06 in prelims, the second swiftest all-time and 0.08 off the global standard she set in October 2024.<\/p>\n

The two-time Olympic relay champion returned to the Duna Arena<\/strong> for the semifinals where she took 0.27 off her own WR.<\/p>\n

It was Walsh’s third individual world record in as many days.<\/p>\n

USA teammate Kate Douglass<\/strong> will be in lane five alongside Walsh after clocking 56.88 with Mary-Sophie Harvey<\/strong> of Canada third through in 57.19.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Meder<\/strong> of South Africa set an African record of 57.69 as she progressed fourth into the final.\u00a0Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> claimed the eighth and final spot in 58.47.<\/p>\n
