style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Olympic legend Dawn Fraser has been released from a Sunshine Coast Hospital in Queensland today &#8211; nine days after a fall at her daughter\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Fraser family issued this statement today, saying that the 87-year-old National Treasure who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympic-legend-dawn-fraser-recovering-from-hip-surgery-after-suffering-a-fall-at-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">underwent surgery for a hip replacement<\/a> and suffered four broken ribs after tripping over in the front yard had left her ward and was given the green light to go home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dawn\u2019s daughter, Dawn-Lorraine has confirmed that doctors cleared her mother to leave hospital for home care earlier today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Doctors agreed Mum had made considerable progress since the hip operation and were happy for her leave hospital for the comfort of my home,\u201d said Dawn-Lorraine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMum will undergo physio and we\u2019re so happy to see her back with us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNine days ago we had some doubts about that &#8211; but she\u2019s certainly shown how damn determined she is.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTo now have her back with us and home well before Christmas is a blessing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMum again wants to express her thanks to the doctors and medical staff who have looked after her so well over the past week.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAnd a huge thanks also to so many people who have sent their best wishes for a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMum now just needs to rest and recover\u2026..\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And there was a special message to her god daughter, fellow Olympic gold medallist Lani Pallister who won Australia\u2019s first gold medal at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in the 800m freestyle in Budapest earlier today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dawn saying: \u201cThat\u2019s my god daughter Lani\u2026I was with you all the way kiddo\u2026and so proud of you and mum and coach
