The first day of the annual Art Adamson Invitational opened with a full slate of events at Texas A&M.<\/p>\n
The men’s and women’s midseason invitational is a staple in the college swim season.<\/p>\n
After one day, Texas A&M leads the men’s meet with 368.5 points, followed by TCU (241), Utah (231), Incarnate Word (129.5) and Air Force (89).<\/p>\n
The Aggies lead the women’s meet with 371 points. TCU is second with 256, followed by Washington State (253), Utah (138) and UIW (35).<\/p>\n
Here is a look at how the first night of finals unfolded.<\/p>\n

Women’s 200 Free Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n Host Texas A&M claimed the first victory of the meet. The Aggies got to the wall in 1:29.10 led by Chloe Stepanek, Kaitlyn Owens, Kailey Kennedy<\/strong> and Olivia Theall<\/strong>, who split a 22.22 on the end.<\/p>\n Washington State’s Darcy Revitt, Emma Wright, Skylar Brgoach<\/strong> and Addy Lewis<\/strong> finished second in 1:30.10.<\/p>\n Utah’s Erin Palmer, Lily Milner, Julia Bartell<\/strong> and Norah Hay<\/strong> took third in 1:30.82.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Men’s 200 Free Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n Texas A&M swept the opening relay with the men also winning. Connor Foote, Ben Scholl, Collin Fuchs<\/strong> and Baylor Nelson<\/strong> got to the wall in 1:16.95 with Nelson splitting a 19.19 on the anchor leg.<\/p>\n TCU’s Peter Horton, Jadon Wuilliez, Nigel Forbe<\/strong>s and Milan Fabian<\/strong> took second in 1:17.50.<\/p>\n Incarnate Word’s Fabio Fasolo, Spyros Kranias, Luis De Oliviera<\/strong> and Amechi Nwaeze<\/strong> took third in 1:19.19.<\/p>\n Women’s 500 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n Texas A&M had a 1-2 finish in the women’s 500 free to open the individual events.<\/p>\n Hayden Miller<\/strong> won the race with a time of 4:40.93. Chloe Stepanek<\/strong> finished second in 4:43.41.<\/p>\n Washington State’s Dori Hathazi<\/strong> took third in 4:48.98.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Men’s 500 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n Utah’s Nick Chirafisi<\/strong> dropped nearly four seconds from prelims to get to the wall in first in 4:18.15.<\/p>\n He went 1-2 with Jones Lambert<\/strong>, who finished in 4:18.19.<\/p>\n UIW’s Panos Vlachogiannakos<\/strong> took third in 4:20.76.<\/p>\n Women’s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n The Aggies went 1-2-3 in the women’s 200 IM with all three dropping time from prelims.<\/p>\n Giulia Goerigk<\/strong> won the race in 1:57.96. The battle for second was a matter of two hundredths of a second as Hannah O’Leary<\/strong> got to the wall in 1:58.53, just ahead of Olivia Theall<\/strong> (1:58.55).<\/p>\n All three were NCAA B cuts.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Men’s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n Baylor Nelson<\/strong> was well ahead of the field as expected in the 200 IM. He dropped nearly a second from prelims and touched the wall in 1:42.78 to win the race.<\/p>\n
