Alabama Holds Serve in Home Meet Against LSU, Florida State<\/strong><\/p>\n

The University of Alabama swim and dive teams welcomed Louisiana State and Florida State Friday, and the Crimson Tide came out on top in all categories.<\/p>\n

The Alabama women edged LSU 157.5-142.5 while beating Florida State 196.5-103.5, with LSU taking down the Seminoles 201-99. On the men’s side, Bama took down LSU 167-133 while beating Florida State 191-109. LSU beat FSU 161.5-138.5.<\/p>\n

The Alabama women’s team of\u00a0Emily Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0Kasia Norman<\/strong>,\u00a0Jada Scott<\/strong> and\u00a0Cadence Vincent<\/strong> won the 200 medley relay by a second to open the meet, finishing in 1:35.10.\u00a0Liberty Williams<\/strong> followed up with a win in the 1000 freestyle (9:40.58), and veteran\u00a0Diana Petkova<\/strong> was the winner of the 100 breaststroke (59.21). Vincent won the 50 free in 22.06, and she returned to top the 100 free as well (48.10).<\/p>\n

Williams won again in the 500 free, coming from behind in the final 100 yards to edge out LSU’s\u00a0Nicole Santuliana<\/strong> by 12-hundredths, 4:43.03 to 4:43.15. Bama’s\u00a0Victoria Raymond<\/strong> topped the 100 butterfly (52.42), and Petkova took a swcond win in the 200 IM (1:57.54).<\/p>\n

For LSU, Reagan Osborne<\/strong> topped the 200 free (1:46.18), and\u00a0Zoe Carlos-Broc<\/strong> won the 100 backstroke (51.81).\u00a0Sofia Sartori<\/strong> pulled away to win the 200 fly (1:55.10), and she won again in the 200 back (1:54.70). Grace Palmer<\/strong> won the 200 breast (2:08.62), The 1-meter diving event went to Montserrat Lavenant<\/strong> (298.10).<\/p>\n

The team of Carlos-Broc,\u00a0Michaela De Villiers<\/strong>,\u00a0Megan Barnes<\/strong> and Osborne capped off the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, clocking 3:15.63 to beat Alabama by five hundredths. The Crimson Tide led for almost the entire race, but the last three splits for the Tigers were all 48s, and Osborne ran down Bama anchor\u00a0Charlotte Rosendale<\/strong> to pull ahead.<\/p>\n

Florida State’s only win on the women’s side came courtesy of\u00a0Samantha Vear<\/strong> in 3-meter diving (343.00).<\/p>\n
