SMU edged Rutgers, 148-134, in the other dual.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/scarletknights.com\/documents\/2024\/10\/25\/Miami_vs._SMU_vs._Rutgers_-_Full_Meet_Results___Scores__10.25.24_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-ten-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Ten Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inouye started her busy day with a win in the 200 freestyle, her time 1:46.63 for a 1-2 with teammate <strong>Savannah Barr.<\/strong> Inouye went 4:45.64 to win the 500 free, with <strong>Adrianna Cera<\/strong> third. Inouye wrapped it up with a time of 2:02.75 to win the 200 individual medley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulia Carvalho<\/strong> led the Hurricanes to a sprint sweep. She went 22.24 to win the 50 free, then 48.89 to take home the 100.<\/p>\n<p>Carvalho\u2019s sprint triumphs were part of five consecutive events won by the Hurricanes in the middle of the meet. <strong>Emma Sundstrand<\/strong> started it by going 1:01.59 to claim the 100 breaststroke. <strong>Ashlyn Massey<\/strong> followed with a domination in the 200 butterfly in 1:57.40. <strong>Mary Kate Kelley<\/strong> followed Carvalho\u2019s sprint double with a 1:57.07 in the 200 backstroke, a 1-2 result with <strong>Sarah Sensenbrenner.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carvalho finished it off with a sweep of the 100 fly for Miami. She went 52.83 to win, ahead of Massey and Barr.<\/p>\n<p>SMU kept the pressure on early in the meet. <strong>Mira Szimcsak<\/strong> won the 1,000 free in 9:55.53, an outstanding race in which she edged Cera by .18 seconds, rallying past her on the final 50. <strong>Jimena Leal\u2019s<\/strong> time of 54.10 similarly snatched away a win in a thrilling 100 back, .08 ahead of Miami\u2019s <strong>Taylor Jonker<\/strong> and .09 up on Kelley.<\/p>\n<p>Szimcsak would return to finish second in the 500 free. <strong>Maddy Parker<\/strong> was second to Carvalho in the 50 and 100 free, the latter by a margin of .09. <strong>Rachel Anderson<\/strong> was the runner-up in the 200 IM, and the Mustangs won the concluding 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Rutgers didn\u2019t come away empty-handed. <strong>Sofia Bartoloni<\/strong> led a sweep in the 200 breast, her time of 2:15.10 edging teammate <strong>Elysha Pribadi<\/strong> by .12 seconds.
