NAG Record Holder Baylor Stanton Verbally Commits To Cal For 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of California, Berkeley has scored a huge verbal commitment for its Class of 2026 from Lawrenceville, Georgia native and Olympic Trials qualifier Baylor Stanton\u00a0<\/strong>– arguably the top recruit in this cohort.<\/p>\n

An incredibly versatile swimmer, he currently owns the fastest times in his class in the 100 back, 200 back, 200 IM and 400 IM.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Aiden Hammer<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Berkeley as a member of the Golden Bears’ Class of 2030.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“After careful consideration, I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to pursue my academic and athletic career at the University of California, Berkeley! First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to my family, coaches, and friends who have provided me with the ability to excel in and out of the pool. I give praise to the Lord for guiding me through this decision, and I am truly grateful for Dave, Josh, and Noah\u2019s unwavering support. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of the legacy! Go Bears!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Stanton, who does his club swimming with Gwinnett Aquatics, is the boys’ 15-16 National Age Group record holder in the 200 back. He would’ve qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships in that event with his best time of 1:40.58.<\/p>\n

This past summer, he competed in three events at Olympic Trials before going on to win the 200m IM and 400m IM at Huntsville Futures. Last December, he was crowned the Juniors East champion in the 200 back where he also took third in the 200 IM, fourth in the 400 IM and fifth in the 100 back and eighth in the 200 fly.<\/p>\n
