Swimming & Para Swimming Among 10 Sports At 2026 Commonwealth Games: Diving Misses Out<\/h4>\n

Swimming and para swimming have been confirmed among 10 sports to be contested at the 2026 Commonwealth Games although diving will not be on the scaled-down programme in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

The programme also includes athletics and para athletics, artistic gymnastics, track cycling and para track cycling, netball, weightlifting and para powerlifting, boxing, judo, bowls and para bowls, and 3×3 basketball and 3×3 wheelchair basketball.<\/p>\n

Tollcross International Swimming Centre will host the swimming and para swimming, 12 years after the venue staged the 2014 Games with the 2018 European Championships and 2019 short-course Europeans subsequently held there.<\/p>\n

Scotstoun Stadium Emirates Arena \u2013 including the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome – and the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) will also stage competition.<\/p>\n

Diving – which was held at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh in 2014 – is one of a number of sports previously contested at the Games to miss out.<\/p>\n

It has been included on the programme since the Empire Games in 1930 with the likes of Tom Daley, Jack Laugher, Alexandre Despatie, Matthew Mitcham, Jennifer Abel, Loudy Tourky<\/strong> and Melissa Wu<\/strong> all treading the Commonwealth boards.<\/p>\n

Also not included are badminton, squash, table tennis, hockey, rugby 7s, triathlon, para triathlon, archery, rhythmic gymnastics, T20 cricket, beach volleyball, cycling (road and mountain biking), shooting and wrestling are also not included.<\/p>\n

Golf, coastal rowing and BMX had been set to be included for the first time at Victoria 2026, before the Victorian State Government (AUS) withdrew as hosts earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Glasgow were named hosts<\/a> in September following a multi-million-dollar injection of funds negotiated by Commonwealth Games Australia<\/strong> (CGA).<\/p>\n

Commonwealth Games Federation CEO Katie Sadleir<\/strong> NZOM said: \u2018\u2019On behalf of the entire Commonwealth Sport Movement, we are delighted to officially confirm that the 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in the host city of Glasgow.
