of the most experienced and successful swimmers in the stroke over the last decade.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper won the 50 back by two tenths in 22.75 while fellow up-and-comer <strong>Pieter Coetze<\/strong> Poland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kasia Wasick<\/strong>, a veteran sprinter who has won World Championship medals in the 50 free, showed some of her signature speed on the front end. He also took down the European record of 1:50.85 set by Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andreas Vazaios\u00a0<\/strong>five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Marchand did not lead wire-to-wire here, with Switzerland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noe Ponti<\/strong> dominating the Frenchman on Ponti&#8217;s signature butterfly, but Marchand crushed the field over the middle portion of the race.
