The Minnesota men’s and women’s dive team remain undefeated after defeating both South Dakota State and St. Thomas in a tri-dual at home Friday night.<\/p>\n

The No. 18-ranked men’s team took down St. Thomas, 251-47, and SDSU, 251-49, while the No. 23-ranked women’s team beat the Tommies, 253-47, and the Jackrabbits, 250-50.<\/p>\n

It was another record-breaking weekend for the program as sophomore YuTong Wang<\/strong> set the school record in the 1-meter with a score of 435.15. The previous record was held by Nick Yang at 420.35. Wang also picked up the victory in the 3-meter with a score of 430.95.<\/p>\n

Prior to the event, the Gophers honored 16 seniors for their contributions to the program.<\/p>\n

“Through three meets, both of our teams are competing very well,” said Minnesota head coach Kelly Kremer<\/strong>. “I loved the energy tonight. It’s been a tough week of work for our swimmers and divers, but they didn’t seem to let that be a reason for not racing hard and putting in outstanding performances both on the board and in the pool.”<\/p>\n

Seniors Joey Tepper, Josh Johnston<\/strong>, and Kaiser Neverman<\/strong> paced the Gopher men with two individual wins each.<\/p>\n

Tepper came in first in the 400 IM (3:53.54) and 200 back (1:46.56), Johnston won the 100 breast (55.16) and 200 breast (2:01.39), while Neverman won both the 200 fly (1:48.23) and 100 IM (48.40).<\/p>\n

Two other senior men picking up victories were Matt McDonald<\/strong> (100 breast, 50.04) and Bar Soloveychik<\/strong> (500 free, 4:26.78).<\/p>\n

The other victories on the men’s side came from Joe Polyak (200 free, 1:41.38), Davide Harabagiu<\/strong> (50 free, 21.15), Lovro Serdarevic<\/strong> (200 back, 45.42) and Connor Groya<\/strong> (100 fly, 49.63).<\/p>\n

The women were paced by Sophomores Anja Kaljevic, Jade Roghair<\/strong> and Mina Kaljevic. Anja Kaljevic<\/strong> finished first in both the 100 breast (1:05.95), and 100 free (52.25), Roghair in both the 200 free (1:51.91) and 500 free (5:00.58) and Mina Kaljevic i<\/strong>n the 50 free (23.87) and 100 fly (56.05).<\/p>\n

The other women’s victories came from Grace Drabot<\/strong> (400 IM, 4:21.18), Faith Johnson<\/strong> (200 fly, 2:04.56), Elise Jacobs<\/strong> (200 back, 2:01.70), Georgia Kahler<\/strong> (200 breast, 2:20.77) and Claire Reinke<\/strong> (100 IM, 58.29).<\/p>\n

Both the men’s and women’s 200 medley relay teams were victorious. The women’s team made up of Paula Rodriguez Rivero, Ava Goodno, Faith Johnson, and Mina Kaljevic<\/strong> won with a time of 1:43.43. The men’s team of Luke Leonidas, Joe Polyak, Tommy McCarthy,<\/strong> and Serdarevic won with a time of 1:30.37.<\/p>\n

Minnesota also swept the 400 freestyle relay. The women’s team of Mina Kaljevic, Paige Moreen<\/strong>, Roghair, and Kahler were victorious with a time of 3:28.74. The men’s team of Jayden Edmonson<\/strong>, Serdarevic, Ian Steffen<\/strong>, and Casey Stowe<\/strong> won with a time of 3:01.14.<\/p>\n

In the diving well, Elna Widerstrom<\/strong> took the top spot in the 1-meter with a score of 306.10. Addie Albrecht was right behind her with a score of 304.35.<\/p>\n

Widerstrom also picked up the victory in the 3-meter with a score of 354.65.<\/p>\n

The Gophers are back in action at home next week for an Alumni meet before heading on the road to Wisconsin on November 9.<\/p>\n
