Purdue Sweeps In-State Rivals at Dan Ross Invitational<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Purdue Boilermakers hosted eight schools from around Indiana Saturday in a meet dedicated to retired men’s head coach\u00a0Dan Ross<\/strong>. The Purdue women scored 865 points in the meet, annihilating the score of the next-best team, Indy (329), while the men beat Indy by 40 points, 600.5 to 560.5.<\/p>\n

Purdue’s team of\u00a0Abby Marcukaitis<\/strong>,\u00a0Masy Folcik<\/strong>,\u00a0Keira Kask <\/strong>and\u00a0Lara Phipps<\/strong> opened the meet winning the 200 medley relay in 1:42.40.\u00a0Hannah Hill<\/strong> won the 50 freestyle (23.11), and\u00a0Maggie Love<\/strong> claimed first in the 100 IM (55.97). Phipps scored first in the 100 free (50.72), followed by\u00a0Marcukaitis winning the 100 backstroke (54.94).<\/p>\n

In diving, Purdue’s\u00a0Daryn Weight<\/strong> won 1-meter (346.45) and\u00a0Sophia McAfee<\/strong> topped 3-meter (353.65). Hill,\u00a0Cecilie Wiuff<\/strong>,\u00a0Kathryn Ackerman<\/strong> and\u00a0Love swam a time of 1:33.48 for the win in the 200 free relay.<\/p>\n

Indy’s\u00a0Andrea Gomez Espionsa<\/strong> topped the 100 fly (55.82), and teammate\u00a0Celina Schmidt<\/strong> won the 100 breast (1:01.83) while Emmaleigh Zietlow<\/strong> from IU Indianapolis won the 200 free (1:47.99) and 500 free (4:51.16).<\/p>\n
