It&#8217;s from in-state standout <strong>Alyssa Sagle<\/strong> from Gainesville, Virginia, about 80 miles northeast of Charlottesville.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>\u201cI am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches and everyone who has helped me along the way. I also want to thank all the coaches at UVA for giving me this opportunity. Go hoos!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sagle trains year-round with Nation\u2019s Capital Swim Club and capped off her summer long course season by earning silver in the 200m back and bronze in the 100m back at Richmond Futures. She raced to fourth in the 50m back at NCSA Spring Championships, also collecting bronze in the 100m back with an Olympic Trials cut.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 back \u2013 24.95<\/li>\n<li>100 back \u2013 53.17<\/li>\n<li>200 back \u2013 1:56.04<\/li>\n<li>50 free \u2013 23.39<\/li>\n<li>100 fly \u2013 55.73<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A junior at Battlefield High School, Sagle won the 50 free and 100 back at the 2024 Virginia Class 6 State Championships.
