{"id":596441,"date":"2024-09-20T09:20:41","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T16:20:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=596441"},"modified":"2024-09-20T09:20:41","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T16:20:41","slug":"usa-swimming-selects-national-junior-team-who-made-the-roster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-selects-national-junior-team-who-made-the-roster\/","title":{"rendered":"USA Swimming Selects National Junior Team &#8211; Who Made the Roster?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>USA Swimming, the National Governing Body of the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced the 71 athletes named to the 2024-2025 National Junior Team presented by the USA Swimming Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s team is headlined by 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships individual gold medalists<br \/>\n<strong>Kayla Han<\/strong> (La Mirada, Calif.\/Carmel Swim Club), <strong>Leah Shackley<\/strong> (Bedford, Penn.\/Blair Regional YMCA), and <strong>Kennedi Dobson<\/strong> (Levittown, Pa.\/Eastern Express Swim Team). <strong>Teagan O\u2019Dell<\/strong> (Chino Hills, Calif.\/Mission Viejo Nadadores) leads all athletes on this year\u2019s roster, qualifying in five events.<\/p>\n<p>The talented men\u2019s team includes reigning Junior Pan Pacific Championships gold medalists <strong>Luka<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Mijatovic<\/strong> (Pleasanton, Calif.\/Pleasanton Seahawks), <strong>Gregg Enoch<\/strong> (Carmel, Ind.\/Carmel Swim Club), and <strong>Logan Robinson<\/strong> (Pensacola, Fla.\/Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club). Enoch and Mijatovic each qualified for this year\u2019s National Junior Team in four events.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2024-usa-junior-national-team-roster-men\/usa-senior-national\/2024\/September\/20?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Men&#8217;s Roster<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2024-usa-junior-national-team-roster-women\/usa-senior-national\/2024\/September\/20?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women&#8217;s Roster<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 2024-2025 National Junior Team Roster represents the future of USA Swimming,\u201d said <strong>Shana<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Ferguson<\/strong>, USA Swimming Interim Chief Executive Officer. \u201cThis team highlights the diversity and depth of talent that makes us proud to support these stars as we prepare for the quad leading to LA28.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 71 athletes represent 59 USA Swimming clubs and 26 home states, with Long Island Aquatic Club<br \/>\nbeing the most-represented club (4) and California being the most-represented state (11).<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of the 2024-2025 U.S. National Junior Team:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 40 athletes have represented the U.S. internationally<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 44 athletes make their National Junior Team roster debut<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Four athletes have been on the junior team for at least three years<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 24 athletes medaled at the 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships Team<\/p>\n<p>The National Junior Team (the \u201cNJT\u201d) roster will be selected from eligible athletes according to Times achieved between January 1, 2024 through and including August 24, 2024. An athlete\u2019s \u201cTime\u201d means the fastest long course meters time swum by that athlete in each individual Olympic event.
