Pitt Adds Olympian Gideon Louw as Associate Head Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n

South African Olympic swimmer Gideon Louw<\/strong> has joined the coaching staff at Pitt as an associate head coach.<\/p>\n

Louw has spent the last six seasons at Auburn University, his alma mater, as an assistant<\/a>. He\u2019s overseen 32 All-Americans there, including the SEC women\u2019s 400 freestyle relay champions in 2019. The men\u2019s team has finished in the top 12 in each of the last two NCAAs, and the women were 19th at NCAAs in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly excited to add Gideon to our staff as an associate head coach,\u201d head coach Chase Kreitler<\/strong> said in a university statement<\/a>. \u201cIt is clear that Gideon\u2019s mentorship-based coaching approach and focus on positive relationships with student-athletes will fit right in with our coaching staff at Pitt.\u201d<\/p>\n
