He began his coaching career at Florida State in 2021-22, working with Club Seminole as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m incredibly blessed and grateful to have been offered the opportunity to lead this historic program,\u201d Zamorano said <a href=\"https:\/\/savannah.scadathletics.com\/news\/2024\/8\/5\/general-scad-announces-rob-zamorano-as-head-swimming-coach.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a university statement<\/a>. \u201cThe support from Amanda and the rest of the athletics department has been incredible and I\u2019m excited to be able to contribute to the vision of what this athletics department is trying to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zamorano swam at Barton College, a Division II program. He graduated with a double major in exercise science and psychology in 2020 and remains one of the program\u2019s top distance swimmers in history.<\/p>\n<p>The NAIA program finished seventh in the women\u2019s standings at the national championships last year and fifth in the men\u2019s. The women were second nationally in 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/naia-nationals-recap-keiser-registers-title-sweep-for-second-year-in-a-row\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">and 2023<\/a>, with the men second nationally in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to welcome Rob to our staff,\u201d director of athletics <strong>Amanda Haverstick<\/strong> said. \u201cIt was extremely important to find an exceptional fit to carry on our swimming program\u2019s legacy of success. From initial conversations to time spent with Rob on campus, it was exciting to hear his passion for coaching and his vision for SCAD swimming as our new head coach.
