SHENANDOAH, Texas, July 23. BREEJA Larson swam away with the women\u2019s 200 breast title in a swift 2:26.71 to highlight the second night of racing at the Speedo Champions Series sectional meet in Shenandoah.<\/p>\n
The second night of racing in Texas began with finals of the women\u2019s and men\u2019s 100 free. In the women\u2019s event, First Colony\u2019s Madeline Locus ran away with the win in 56.83, comfortably ahead of Aggie Swim Club\u2019s Sarah Gibson (57.35). Rebecca Millard of South Texas came in third at 57.53. Alexander Hancock of Blue Tide Aquatics posted the top time in the men\u2019s final at 51.51, only three tenths ahead of Alamo Area Aquatic Association\u2019s Luke Shaw (51.82). Gray Umbach of The Woodlands touched in 52.16 to finish third.<\/p>\n
Breeja Larson led a trio of past, present and future Texas A&M swimmers in the women\u2019s 200 breast final, dominating the race with a 2:26.71. That\u2019s slightly off her best swim of 2014, a 2:25.14 from the Texas Senior Circuit earlier this month. Franko Jonker touched well behind in 2:32.51, followed by Bethany Galat in 2:37.35. Streamline Aquatics\u2019 Thiago Parravicini claimed the men\u2019s 200 breast title in 2:18.01, about four seconds in front of Alex Tooley (2:22.82), who is competing unattached. John Remetta of the North Texas Nadadores touched third in 2:23.98.<\/p>\n
Claire Brandt of the Dallas Mustangs picked up a huge win in the women\u2019s 200 back, touching first by almost six seconds with a 2:14.84. Jennifer Reese of The Woodlands gave the host team another podium finish with a 2:20.42, a tenth in front of Fort Worth Area Swim Team\u2019s Carla Gonzalez (2:20.52). William Crowe made it two-in-a-row for the Dallas Mustangs after touching in 2:04.76 in the men\u2019s 200 back final. Cooper Robinson, competing unattached out of North Texas, claimed second in 2:05.22, followed by West Houston Aquatic Team\u2019s Anthony Ashley in 2:08.00.<\/p>\n
Tiffany Futscher made it three straight wins for the Dallas Mustangs with her 2:17.68 in the women\u2019s 200 fly. Eszter Heins of Houston Swim Club posted a 2:18.43 to finish second, while Pearland Aquatics\u2019 Jaden Bellina took third in 2:19.25. Alamo Area Aquatic Association broke the trend with a 1-2 finish in the men\u2019s final, however. Andrew Skowronek (2:03.18) and Aaron Moran (2:06.46) led the way, followed by Katy\u2019s Kyle Nash (2:07.66).<\/p>\n
