Adam Peaty Returns after Physically \u2018Probably the Worst Week of my Life\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adam Peaty<\/strong> returned to the water Saturday morning at the Paris Olympics for relay duty on Great Britain\u2019s men\u2019s medley, though the silver medalist in the 100 breast isn\u2019t fully recovered from a bout of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Peaty tested positive after tying<\/a> with American Nic Fink<\/strong> for silver in the 100 breast on Sunday night<\/a>, his time .02 off the swim of Italy\u2019s Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong> that ended Peaty\u2019s bid for a third straight gold medal in the event.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old told media Saturday that his is not yet symptom-free and is also dealing with an ear infection in what has become a trying week.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably the worst week of my life in terms of how my body feels, and that\u2019s no exaggeration,\u201d Peaty said. \u201cEverything\u2019s come at once since the COVID. It\u2019s just every day waking up with a different thing. Medical team has been brilliant. It\u2019s just a victory getting on that starting block there. Hopefully that will give my body a nice little push for tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n
