MICHAEL Weiss and Katherine Drabot each picked up two wins in back-to-back events, while David Plummer posted an impressive win in the 100 back during the second night of finals at the Speedo Champions Series sectional meet at the University of Iowa Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>After finishing third in the women\u2019s 100 free last night, Ozaukee Aquatics\u2019 Katherine Drabot upgraded to first in the 200 free with a new meet record of 2:01.52. Tori Simenec of Minnesota Aquatics moved up one spot from her prelims swim to take second in 2:02.76, while Ruby Martin of the host Iowa Flyers touched third in 2:03.16. Wisconsin Aquatics\u2019 Michael Weiss earned his first win of the meet in the men\u2019s 200 free, one night after taking third in the 200 breast. Weiss cleared 1:50 with a 1:49.87 for the win, with teammates Matthew Hutchins (1:50.61) and Nicholas Caldwell (1:50.84) in second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Drabot and Martin rebounded nicely from the women\u2019s 200 free final to finish 1-2 in the 400 IM one event later. Drabot led the way in 4:51.40, with Martin in second at 4:52.85. Aja Van Hout of Wisconsin Aquatics snuck into the top three with a 4:55.41. In the men\u2019s 400 IM, Weiss claimed his second event of the night as well with a winning time of 4:24.25. Jae Park of Nasa Wildcat Aquatics earned another podium finish with his 4:25.15, while Jacob Miller of RED rounded out the top three in 4:35.34.<\/p>\n<p>Ashlyn Schoof of the Schroeder YMCA captured the women\u2019s 100 back title by just .07 over Nasa Wildcat\u2019s Lacey Locke, 1:02.58 to 1:02.65. Katelyn Holmquist of Minnesota Aquatics claimed third place honors in 1:04.22. World championship silver medalist David Plummer of New York Athletic Club put on a show in the final individual event of the night, setting a new pool and meet record and winning the men\u2019s 100 back in 53.97. That lowered his own pool and meet record of 54.31 from the morning and is only a tenth off his best swim of 2014, a 53.86 from the Charlotte Grand Prix. Wisconsin Aquatics teammates Andrew Teduits (56.25) and Austin Byrd (56.26) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin Aquatics\u2019 Chase Kinney, Aja Van Hout, Ivy Martin and Anne Tamblyn got to the wall first in the women\u2019s 400 free relay in 3:47.16. Schroeder YMCA\u2019s quartet of Abigail Raatz, Alexandra Meyers, Ashlyn Schoof and Hannah Saiz placed second in 3:50.98, while Minnesota Aquatics\u2019 Tori Simenec, Heidi Busack, Allison Schumacher and Katelyn Holmquist rounded out the top three in 3:53.05. Wisconsin Aquatics also won the men\u2019s relay as Damon Zito, Brett Pinfold, Nicholas Caldwell and Matthew Hutchins touched first in 3:25.29. Wisconsin\u2019s B squad of Cannon Clifton, Sean Maloney, Travis Thompson and Harrison tran made it a 1-2 punch with their 3:29.05, while Brandon Farnum, Brian Donatelli, Joseph Halsmer and Roman Trussov gave Club Hawkeye a third place finish in 3:29.22.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/published\/13125.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Results For: Iowa Sectionals, Day Two<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IOWA CITY, Iowa, July 18.
