That means she&#8217;ll be dropping the 200 free.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/view.officeapps.live.com\/op\/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.fina.org%2Ffina%2Fdocument%2F2024%2F07%2F12%2F64c5ea6d-ef1b-49fc-a9cf-445966773ae7%2FOG00459_Swimming_entries_10.07.24.xlsx&amp;wdOrigin=BROWSELINK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Official Paris Olympic Event Entries<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>McIntosh was third in the 200 free at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, though with world record holder <strong>Mollie O\u2019Callaghan<\/strong> and fellow Aussie <strong>Ariarne Titmus,<\/strong> it\u2019s one of the more difficult events to medal in on her program. (Though <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/david-johnston-added-to-olympic-open-water-erin-gemmell-gets-individual-200-free-swim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two of the top three Americans at Trials<\/a>, <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> and <strong>Paige Madden,<\/strong> also dropped the event.)<\/p>\n<p>McIntosh won the 400 IM and 200 fly in Fukuoka. The final of the 200 free is in the same session as the 400 IM final in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Canadian <strong>Maggie MacNeil<\/strong> has added the 100 freestyle. She didn\u2019t swim the event at Canadian Trials but carried an Olympic qualifying time. MacNeil made the team in the 100 fly, the event in which she is the reigning Olympic champ. Both she and McIntosh will be plenty busy with relay duties.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of Olympic champs: <strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> has picked up the 100 freestyle. The four-time Olympic medalist will swim the 50 free and 100 free, which means she won\u2019t contest the 100 fly, in which she won Olympic gold in 2016, is a four-time world champion and the world record holder. Sjostrom swam just the 50 fly (not an Olympic event) and 50 free at Worlds in 2023. Sjostrom also holds the world record in the 50 and 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>Australian <strong>Lani Pallister<\/strong> paired down her program by dropping the 400 free.
