She helped Virginia win the ACC for the fifth straight time and to claim its fourth consecutive NCAA title.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh set four American records at the ACC Championships on the way to seven gold medals. She was the most valuable swimmer at that meet. She won the NCAA title in the 50 freestyle, 100 free and 100 butterfly, setting NCAA records in all, to go with four relay gold medals.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh set a world record in the women\u2019s 100-meter fly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/top-8-performances-of-u-s-olympic-trials-gretchen-walsh-regan-smith-lead-way-with-world-records\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at U.S. Olympic Trials last month<\/a> to book her first trip to the Olympics.
