He spent 2023-24 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/louisville-adds-trevor-maida-to-coaching-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as an assistant coach at Louisville<\/a>, his latest stop in the ranks of assistant coaching in the power conferences.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m thrilled to join Bob Bowman&#8217;s staff at the University of Texas,&#8221; Maida said <a href=\"https:\/\/texassports.com\/news\/2024\/6\/27\/mens-swimming-and-diving-trevor-maida-named-assistant-coach-for-texas-swimming-and-diving.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a university statement<\/a>. &#8220;Working at Texas has always been a dream of mine, and I am eager to begin this next chapter. Bob is one of the most accomplished coaches in history, and I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to work alongside him. I want to express my gratitude to Bob, Erik (Posegay) and the entire staff for this incredible opportunity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maida helped the Cardinals finish as the runner-up at the 2024 ACC Women\u2019s Championships, to NCAA champion Virginia. Louisville had three A finalists at the 2024 NCAA Championships. The men\u2019s team finished 15th at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville spent four years at the University of Wisconsin. The Badgers women\u2019s team finished in the top 20 at NCAAs in his first two seasons. Maida also helped New Zealand Olympian <strong>Taiko Torepe-Ormsby<\/strong> as a freshman.<\/p>\n<p>Maida swam for St. Bonaventure for a year and a half before transition to a student assistant coach. He graduated in 2018. The native of Hauppauge, N.Y., spent his first season in coaching as a volunteer assistant at Indiana University, the Hoosiers sweeping the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Big Ten titles for the first time in program history in 2018-19.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to add Trevor to lead our sprint program at Texas,&#8221; Bowman said. &#8220;He is a forward thinker who has proven results at the NCAA and International levels. His strong work ethic, creativity and recruiting expertise will be huge assets for our program.
