SOME of the fastest high school sprinters in the nation joined up for the top 200-yard free relays on the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association All-American lists. In Nebraska, Jacob Molacek paced the Creighton Prep boys, while Amy Bilquist sparked the Carmel girls in Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>Creighton Prep is on top of the 200-yard free relay rankings this year with a 1:22.31 from finals of the Nebraska State High School Championships. The foursome of Jacob Molacek (19.84), Sean Tate (20.15), Ryan Tate (21.16) and Michael Bauwens (21.16) put together the top time this past year to beat Bolles by just one hundredth of a second.<\/p>\n<p>It was a special meet for Molacek, who also took down the 100-yard breast national high school record in prelims. The Auburn-bound senior posted a 52.92 for the first sub-53 second time ever clocked by a high school swimmer.<\/p>\n<p>Over in Indiana, Carmel High had a tremendous swim in the girls 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Amy Bilquist (22.52), Claire Adams (22.66), Hanna House (23.31) and Veronica Burchill (22.88) clocked a 1:31.37 to set a national public school mark. That swim smashed a second-and-a-half off Carmel&#8217;s previous record of 1:32.75, and closed the distance on Baylor&#8217;s overall and independent school record of 1:31.18.<\/p>\n<p>It will be interesting to see what Bolles is able to pull off next year with its entire team having graduated.
