ORLANDO, Florida, July 13. ELIZABETH Beisel, Katie Hoff, Arthur Frayler, Natalie Hinds and Sebastien Rousseau each won their second individual event of the meet as the Southern Zone South Sectional meet came to a close tonight at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando.<\/p>\n

During this afternoon\u2019s timed finals distance freestyle session, Bluefish\u2019s Elizabeth Beisel picked up her second win of the meet with a personal best in the 800 free. Beisel touched in 8:29.41 to knock almost four seconds off her previous best of 8:33.27, which she set just a few weeks ago at the Santa Clara Grand Prix. She actually negative split the race after turning in 4:15.06 at the 400 mark. Beisel is now ranked 16th<\/sup> in the world in that event in 2014. Gator Swim Club\u2019s Andreina Pinto came in second in 8:33.70, while her teammate Jessica Theilmann touched third in 8:34.51.<\/p>\n

After winning the men\u2019s 800 free on night one, Germantown\u2019s Arthur Frayler made it two-for-two in the distance events with a 15:32.31 in the men\u2019s 1500 free. Frayler finished well off his personal best of 15:13.41 but was still 11 seconds ahead of second place finisher Eric Ng (15:43.62) of Scarlet Aquatics. Eric Stobbe, also of Scarlet Aquatics, rounded out the top three in 15:18.29.<\/p>\n

Isabella Paez of Metro Aquatic Club of Miami took home the first title of tonight\u2019s finals session with a sizable win in the women\u2019s 200 fly. Paez dropped almost three seconds from her morning swim to touch first in 2:13.65, well ahead of Saint Petersburg\u2019s Emma Spilman (2:16.10). Alyssa Yambor-Maul of Area Tallahassee got her first top-three finish of the meet with a 2:16.28. Peddie\u2019s Connor Signorin posted the fastest time in the men\u2019s 200 fly tonight with a 2:01.69, a new personal best by almost a second. Diago Decarvalho of Gator Swim Club moved up six spots from his eighth place finish this morning to take second in 2:02.10, while top qualifier David Knight of North Palm Beach slipped to third with a 2:02.43.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s 100 free final turned out to be a fantastic duel between City of Midland\u2019s Natalie Hinds and Hurricane Aquatics\u2019 Katie Hoff. Hinds won the 50 free earlier in the meet, while Hoff won the 200. Hinds held the early lead at 26.83, while Hoff had the faster second 50 at 28.74. At the finish, Hinds had just enough left to hold on, 55.78 to 55.85. Megan Moroney of Saint Andrew\u2019s rounded out the top three in 56.86. Sebastien Rousseau of Gator Swim Club earned his second victory of the meet after taking the 100 back title last night. Rousseau held on to his top spot from the morning with a 50.58, three-tenths ahead of Saint Petersburg\u2019s Nicholas Alexiou (50.89). Patriot Aquatics\u2019 Bradley DeBorde, yesterday\u2019s winner of the 50 free, finished third in the longer distance with a 51.15.<\/p>\n

Katie Hoff rebounded from her second place finish in the 100 free to finish first in the 200 breast, her second win of the meet. Hoff cruised to the win in 2:28.81, almost three seconds ahead of Swim Fort Lauderdale\u2019s Emily Kopas (2:31.61). Lindsey Swartz of Pine Crest came in third in 2:35.86. Club Seminole\u2019s Juan Sequera topped the men\u2019s 200 breast field in 2:17.48, about two seconds ahead of Gator Swim Club\u2019s Diago Decarvalho (2:19.45). Jared Pike, also from Club Seminole, came in third in 2:20.66.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s 200 back final, Sarasota YMCA\u2019s Ashlee Linn denied AquaKids Sharks\u2019 Clara Smiddy the backstroke sweep by the slimmest of margins, .01. Linn won the heat in 2:13.41 while Smiddy was second in 2:13.42. Elise Haan of T2 Aquatics finished third in 2:15.54. Carlos Omana of Metro Aquatic Club of Miami won the final event of the meet, touching first in the men\u2019s 200 back in 2:01.28, just off his personal best of 2:00.60. Peddie\u2019s Connor Signorin finished on the podium for the second time tonight with a 2:02.31, while Jian Wang of Gator Swim Club took third in 2:03.10.<\/p>\n

Gator Swim Club took home the combined team title with 909 points, ahead of Scarlet Aquatics (682) and Swim Fort Lauderdale (462). Scarlet Aquatics (366), Gator Swim Club (296) and Saint Andrew\u2019s (263) finished 1-2-3 in the women\u2019s meet, while Gator Swim Club (613), Scarlet Aquatics (316) and Swim Fort Lauderdale (225) topped the men\u2019s team standings. Hurricane Aquatics\u2019 Katie Hoff (107 points) and Peddie\u2019s Connor Signorin (73.5 points) took home the individual high point awards.<\/p>\n
