After the first swim-off, a sentence that should keep you glued already, Adam Chaney<\/strong> was ready with a deadpan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was planned, yeah,\u201d the droll Florida swimmer said.<\/p>\n

If Chaney was planning to tie with someone for the eighth spot in the semifinals of the men\u2019s 50 freestyle<\/a>, then tie with that person again in the swim-off \u2026 well, he\u2019d have a hell of a sense of humor. But in casting his scene partner, he would go with few others before Jonny Kulow,<\/strong> his pal from international duty and a fellow chaser of a spot at the Paris Olympics at U.S. Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love this dude,\u201d Kulow said. \u201cWe swam together at Pan Ams as teammates. He\u2019s the best guy I\u2019d want to do it again with.\u201d<\/p>\n
