French Trials, Day 5 Prelims: Florent Manaudou Posts 50 Free Season’s Best Of 21.52<\/h4>\n

Florent Manaudou<\/strong> posted 21.52 in the prelims of the men’s 50 free on day five of the French Championships in Chartres.<\/p>\n

It was a season’s best for the 33-year-old as he seeks to reach the Olympic dash podium for the fourth straight Games.<\/p>\n

Maxime Grousset<\/strong>, who scorched to 47.33 over 100 free, was next home in 21.66, the third-swiftest of his career with both men well inside the 21.96 cut.<\/p>\n

The men’s 200m backstroke looks set to be a real tussle with the four fastest qualifiers separated by 0.17.<\/p>\n

Antoine Herlem<\/strong> led the way in 1:58.33 followed by European champion Yohann Ndoye Brouard<\/strong> (1:58.35), Mewen Tomac<\/strong> (1:58.49) and Mathys Chouchaoui<\/strong> (1:58.50).<\/p>\n

The Olympic QT is 1:57.50.<\/p>\n

Lara De Grangeon Villele<\/strong> headed the women’s 200 fly in 2:10.33 with the cut standing at 2:08.43.<\/p>\n
