UPLAND, California, July 12. SONIA Wang, the third-ranked recruit in the nation by CollegeSwimming.com, has elected to compete at Harvard University after her senior season in high school.<\/p>\n
Wang, who trains with the Redlands Swim Team and preps at Upland High School in California, is also the top-ranked recruit out of the State of California.<\/p>\n
Wang is a powerhouse with versatility across the board in short course yards. She owns a 53.77 in the 100-yard backstroke, and a 1:55.75 in the 200-yard fly. She also has some strong IM times with a 1:58.52 in the 200-yard event as well as a 4:10.83 in the 400-yard IM. She also can throw in a swift 53.03 in the 100-yard fly as part of her amazing repertoire.<\/p>\n
Wang is also dangerous in long course meter competition. She has a 1:00.34 in the 100-meter fly and a 2:13.17 in the 200-meter fly to her credit. She also has a 2:17.31 in the 200-meter IM as part of her long course resume.<\/p>\n
Wang is a legacy at Harvard as her older sister Oriana will be a senior at Harvard during Sonia’s freshman season.<\/p>\n
