IT took a pair of amazing national records to lead the 100-yard fly in the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association All-American lists. Bolles&#8217; Joseph Schooling and St. Margarita&#8217;s Katie McLaughlin both took down a national high school record for the top times this year.<\/p>\n<p>Schooling had an amazing swim at the Florida State 1A high School State Championships as he crushed the men&#8217;s 100-yard fly national high school record during finals of the meet. After initially clocking a 45.90 in prelims, Schooling broke the record with a 45.52. Schooling&#8217;s time undercut his Bolles training partner Caeleb Dressel (45.89) for the record in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s video of Schooling&#8217;s record-breaking swim:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5Hj8kK8uqhU\" width=\"470\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>McLaughlin joined the national high school record party at the CIF Southern Section Championships by clipping the women&#8217;s 100-yard fly record with a sizzling time of 51.78. She split the race 24.49, 27.29 en route to taking down Jasmine Tosky&#8217;s national record of 51.92. Notably, McLaughlin also cleared the national independent school record of 52.23 set by Punahou&#8217;s Jasmine Mau. Earlier in the night, McLaughlin also put up a 1:44.66 to win the 200-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Here is video of McLaughlin&#8217;s amazing high school record:<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zfoAQIiY_cY\" width=\"470\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While Schooling and McLaughlin were clearly at the top of their games in the 100 fly, some strong swims occurred a bit further down the All-American lists. Ryan Dudzinski will be the fastest returning swimmer next year as the junior ranked fifth with a 47.44.
