Olympic Trials Day 4 Prelims: Jake Foster in the Mix in Men’s 200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Day 4 prelims session concluded with the men’s 200 breaststroke at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

The breaststroke has become a familiar group and that continued on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Nic Fink has already made the team in the 100 breaststroke. The soon-to-be father qualified for Paris by winning the 100 breast on Father’s Day.<\/p>\n

Charlie Swanson<\/strong> was the second-place finisher in the 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n

After watching his brother make the team in the 400 IM, Jake Foster<\/strong> won the second-to-last heat in 2:10.92 to finish ahead of Will Licon<\/strong> (2:11.00), and Swanson (2:11.75).<\/p>\n

“All week, my distance-per-stroke has been really good. The goal was to have a strong, lanky swim,” Foster said. “I get more nervous for Carson’s swims than my own, but it was really exciting. He worked so hard for this and hopefully I can join him on the team later.”<\/p>\n

AJ Pouch took the top seed from an early heat at 2:08.25, ahead of Josh Matheny<\/strong> (2:09.59), Matt<\/strong> Fallon<\/strong> (2:09.81) and Foster.<\/p>\n

Daniel Roy<\/strong> (2:10.95), Licon, Josh Bey<\/strong> (2:11.02) and Fink (2:11.21) rounded out the top eight of the semifinalists at the Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n
