French Trials, Day 3 Finals: Maxime Grousset Drops 47.33 100 Free PB For Ticket To Home Games<\/h4>\n

Maxime Grousset<\/strong> served up a 100 free PB of 47.33 on day three of the French Olympic trials in Chartres.<\/p>\n

The 2022 world silver medallist split 22.64\/24.69 to take 0.09 off his previous best of 47.42 en-route to bronze<\/a> at the 2023 World Championships<\/strong> in Fukuoka.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old remains third all-time performer in France behind Alain Bernard<\/strong> (46.94) and Fred Bousquet<\/strong> (47.25) on a day when swimmers made 47s look routine around the world.<\/p>\n

Jack Alexy<\/strong> went 47.08 at the US trials prelims where he was followed by Chris Giuliano<\/strong> (47.65), Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> (47.82) and Hunter Armstrong<\/strong> (47.93)\u00a0 while David Popovici<\/strong> went 47.90 in prelims at the European Championships<\/strong> in Belgrade before lowering that to 47.82 in semis.<\/p>\n

Grousset himself had gone 47.65 in Tuesday morning prelims where Florent Manaudou<\/strong> had dropped a 47.90 PB, both men well inside the cut.<\/p>\n

Manaudou didn’t appear for the final where Rafael Fente Damers<\/strong> swam to an age group record of 48.14 which was also inside the cut for Paris.<\/p>\n

Guillaume Guth<\/strong> (48.62) and Hadrian Salvan<\/strong> (48.78) were the next men home.<\/p>\n

Anastasia Kirpichnikova<\/strong> booked a second swim at Paris 2024 when she went more than nine seconds inside the 1500 free QT in 15:59,95, enjoying a winning margin of victory of 41secs over Lisa Pou.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kirpichnikova – who represented the ROC at Tokyo 2021 – has already qualified in the 400 with the 800 to come.<\/p>\n

Marie Wattel<\/strong> added an outing in the 100 free to her 100 fly ticket in 53.61 to match the qualification time.<\/p>\n

Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong> (53.71), Mary-Ambre Moluh<\/strong> (54.08) and Charlotte Bonnet<\/strong> (54.57) were the next three women home.<\/p>\n

Zia Dupont<\/strong> won the women’s 200m breaststroke in 2:28.12, more than 4secs outside the cut.<\/p>\n

Mewen Tomac<\/strong> (24.83) and Carl Aitkaci<\/strong> (27.51) won their respective non-Olympic 50 back and breast titles.<\/p>\n
