Most recently, Caeleb Dressel claimed Games gold, his name joining the likes of Duke Kahanamoku, Johnny Weissmuller, Mark Spitz and Matt Biondi.<\/p>\n<p>At the United States Olympic Trials, which will get underway on Saturday in Indianapolis, the top six finishers in the 100 freestyle can be selected for relay duty in Paris this summer. However, only the top-two finishers will earn the opportunity to contest the 100 freestyle on an individual basis. Without question, American depth in the event is impressive, highlighted by six athletes with sub-48 seed times.<\/p>\n<p>Will Dressel earn the chance to defend his Olympic crown? That is one question that will soon be answered in the pool. First, though, we ask our readers for their opinion on the 100 freestyle. Who will claim victory in the event and head to the Olympic Games as a leading contender for gold?
