Euan Lowe to Step Down as Scottish Swimming Chief Executive<\/strong><\/p>\n

Euan Lowe<\/strong> will step down from his position of Chief Executive of Scottish Swimming at the end of 2024, he announced on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Lowe has led the organization since the summer of 2019, navigating it through the COVID-19 pandemic and the #SaveOurPools campaign to, \u201chelp secure long-term financial investment for our current swimming pool stock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Under Lowe\u2019s watch, Scotland has contributed significantly to Great Britain\u2019s tremendous generation of swimmers. Duncan Scott<\/strong> and Katie Shanahan<\/strong> are among the most notable, but Scotland won two gold medals (both Scott) and 12 total at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The latter total was fourth on the overall medal table, behind Australia, England and Canada.<\/p>\n

Lowe\u2019s work behind the scenes included a staff restructuring, the introduction of roles for a swimming pathway manager and a national aquatic sports manager and stronger links from the nation\u2019s learn to swim curriculum<\/a> up to the elite performance programs.<\/p>\n
