Fox has painted some of the biggest icons of our time including the late <strong>Jackie Robinson, Steven Tyler<\/strong> and<strong> Muhammad Ali,<\/strong> among many others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have had the great honor to call every one of Michael Phelps\u2019 28 Olympic medal performances for NBC and have always said that he is the greatest Olympian in history and it\u2019s not even close,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/ishof.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hall of Famer<\/a> <strong>Rowdy Gaines<\/strong>. \u201cThe next closest in the medal count is 18 and his 23 golds are 14 more than the next closest athlete. I will also say that he is the greatest athlete in history because of the many credentials in his unbelievable career&#8230;five Olympic Games, 39 world records and 65 gold medals in the \u2018Majors\u2019 of international competition. If Michael was a country, he would be ahead of 161 other countries with his medal haul.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrian Fox is the GOAT of sports artists. His eight paintings of Michael representing his perfect 8-for-8 at the Beijing Olympics are the most beautiful pieces of sports art I have ever seen. They represent every detail of Michael\u2019s historic swims and I was so honored to get to know Brian and witness these amazing paintings up close and personal. These will be priceless one day and Brian will continue to show his brilliance for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the 2008 Olympics, Phelps did a little bit of everything en route to his eight gold medals. There were blowout victories and down-to-the-wire finishes. Fox&#8217;s artwork captures each of the races in his work, and fans can relive these special moments through his paintings.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Fox\u2019s earlier works are among the most sought after in sports art, including a one-of-a-kind \u201cMiracle on Ice\u201d painting capturing the historic moment the young American Olympic hockey team shocked the world by beating the heavily-favored Soviet team in 1980. One of Fox&#8217;s notable commissions included creating original artwork for the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, where his work was then featured on the cover of the limited edition game day program.
