Kaylee McKeown Misses Top Eight<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defending Olympic champion <strong>Ariarne Titmus<\/strong> and world record holder <strong>Mollie O\u2019Callaghan<\/strong> will lead an all-star cast into tonight\u2019s 200m freestyle final \u2013 the feature event on night three of the Trials for Paris at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Titmus, as she did in the heats of the 400m on day one, zoomed through the first 100m on world record pace \u2013 backing off to clock the fastest qualifying time of 1:55.50.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After O\u2019Callaghan had won the opening heat, cruising into the wall in 1:55.68.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two best in the world are two of five members of <strong>Dean Boxall\u2019s<\/strong> St Peters Western super group \u2013 into the top eight -with <strong>Jamie Perkins<\/strong> (1:56.75) the fourth fastest; <strong>Brianna Throssell<\/strong> (1:56.89) fifth and <strong>Shayna Jack <\/strong>(1:56.98) sixth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Others to qualify are 400m freestyle qualifier <strong>Lani Pallister<\/strong> (Griffith University, QLD; Coach <strong>Michael Bohl)<\/strong>third fastest in 1:56.54, <strong>Meg Harris<\/strong> (Rackley, QLD) seventh 1:57.52 and <strong>Brittany Casteluzzo<\/strong> (Tea Tree Gully\/SASI, SA; Coach: <strong>Craig Stewart<\/strong>) eighth in 1:57.56.<\/p>\n<p>Titmus, O&#8217;Callaghan, Jack and Throssell formed the all-St Peters Western Australian team that won World&#8217;s gold in Fukuoka last year &#8211; in world record time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the high-profile casualties include already qualified (200IM and 100m backstroke) <strong>Kaylee McKeown<\/strong>(Griffith University, QLD; Coach <strong>Michael Bohl<\/strong>) 11<sup>th<\/sup> in 1:57.96 \u2013 0.40 behind eighth place and fellow Olympians <strong>Kiah Melverton<\/strong>\u00a0(St Peters Western, QLD) 12<sup>th<\/sup> in 1:58.37; <strong>Leah Neale<\/strong> (Chandler, QLD) 17<sup>th<\/sup> in 2:00.10 and <strong>Tamsin Cook<\/strong> (Propulsion, VIC) 18<sup>th<\/sup> in 2:00.84.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melverton was in the Australian team that set a new world record at the 2022 Commonwealth Games while both Neale and Cook have won Olympic silver and bronze in the last two Games, 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo respectively &#8211;
