South Africa\u2019s Lara Van Niekerk to Miss Olympics Due to Administrative Error<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Africa\u2019s Lara Van Niekerk<\/strong> is due to miss the Paris Olympics due to an error in the registration of her times.<\/p>\n

Van Niekerk announced the error this week on Instagram, saying that it occurred due to \u201ccircumstances beyond my control.\u201d Reporting out of the country indicates that van Niekerk twice recorded Olympic A cuts at meets that were not properly registered by South African authorities<\/a> as official qualifying meets. That includes the A cut of 1:06.74 achieved at the 2023 South African Championships.<\/p>\n
