ODENSE, Denmark, July 6. THE Denmark Nationals took place this week in Odense with Viktor Bromer not only setting a Scandinavian record in the men’s 200-meter fly but also winning five total titles.<\/p>\n
After first breaking the Nordic record in the men’s 200-meter fly with a 1:56.21 during prelims, he became the fastest Scandinavian man ever in the distance fly with a 1:55.59 during the finale. That swim pushed him to sixth in the SwimVortex world rankings. His previous best coming into the meet had been a Danish record 1:57.53 from the Canet stop of the Mare Nostrum meet in June. His win in the 200 fly was his fourth title of the meet.<\/p>\n
Bromer opened the meet off with a 2:02.97 whitewashing of the men’s 200-meter IM field. Bromer’s second individual title of the meet came by way of a 53.44 in the men’s 100-meter fly. Bromer then put up a 4:23.01 to win the men’s 400-meter IM for his third victory. Bromer’s fifth title occurred in the men’s 200-meter back with a 2:06.02.<\/p>\n
Mie Nielsen earned the women’s 50-meter backstroke title in 28.31. She’s been much faster this year with a second-ranked 27.76 from the Eindhoven Swim Cup. She picked up a second title with a 2:18.72 in the women’s 200-meter IM. Nielsen’s third title came by way of the women’s 100-meter back as she clocked a 1:00.28. Nielsen dominated the women’s 200-meter free finale with a 2:01.88 for her fourth crown in Odense.<\/p>\n
Anton Ipsen claimed the men’s 400-meter free in 3:53.42. Ipsen captured his second title of the meet with a 15:37.70 in the men’s 1500-meter freestyle. Ipsen swept the middle-to-distance freestyle with an 8:09.02 in the men’s 800-meter free.<\/p>\n
Maj Howardsen claimed the women’s 1500-meter free in 17:12.30, then doubled up with a 4:19.34 to top the women’s 400-meter free. Her third title gave her a distance free sweep as she won the women’s 800-meter free in 8:56.22.<\/p>\n
Louise Dalgaard clinched the women’s 50-meter breast title in 32.32. She then posted a 2:34.01 to win the women’s 200-meter breast. She tripled up with a 1:10.43 in the women’s 100-meter breast to accomplish a stroke sweep.<\/p>\n
Frederik Siem Pedersen snared the men’s 100-meter free crown in 50.81. Pedersen claimed both sprint frees with a 22.81 to top the men’s 50-meter freestyle finale.<\/p>\n
Julie Levisen topped the women’s 100-meter free in 56.08. She swept the sprint freestyles with a 25.58 in the women’s 50-meter freestyle finale.<\/p>\n
Emilie Beckmann won the women’s 100-meter fly in 1:00.38, then picked up a second victory with a 26.80 in the women’s 50-meter fly.<\/p>\n
Lasse Pittioni won the men’s 50-meter breaststroke in 28.86. Anderas Schiellerup and Magnus Jakupsson tied for the men’s 50-meter back title with matching 26.30s. Soren Dahl hit the wall in 24.76 to win the men’s 50-meter fly. Viktor Christensen snagged the men’s 200-meter breast in 2:18.01. Kevin Witt Christensen stopped the clock in 57.12 to win the men’s 100-meter back. Frans Johannessen earned the men’s 200-meter free crown in 1:50.00. Kristoffer Moos won the men’s 100-meter breast in 1:03.97.<\/p>\n
