Alex Townsend Pledges 2025 Verbal To Princeton<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0Alex Townsend\u00a0<\/strong>of Raleigh, North Carolina, has pledged his verbal commitment* to continue his academic and swimming career at Princeton University beginning in Fall 2025.<\/p>\n

He will join Jiarui Xue <\/strong><\/a>and\u00a0Oliver Rowe<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Tigers\u2019s Class of 2029.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely excited and honored to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University! I\u2019m thrilled for the chance to spend four years at a school with not only world class academics and athletics, but also an amazing team and school culture! Thank you Coach Matt and Coach Mia for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I\u2019d also like to thank my family, teammates, and all my coaches for their support and guidance over the years. Go Tigers!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Townsend does his club swimming with Marlins of Raleigh and won the 200 IM at North Carolina Seniors back in February before going on to collect bronze in the 200m IM at ESSZ Speedo Spring Championships the following month. Last summer, he finaled in the 200m breast at Ocala Futures.<\/p>\n
