Danielle Hill & Shane Ryan Post Irish Standards In Prelims Of Olympic Trials<\/h4>\n

Danielle Hill<\/strong> and Shane Ryan<\/strong> set Irish records in the 50 and 100 free respectively on the penultimate morning of Swim Ireland\u2019s Irish Open Championships and Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n

Larne swimmer Hill stopped the clock at 24.95, dipping under the 25-second mark for the first time to slice 0.20 from her previous best 0f 25.15 from 2022.<\/p>\n

It was also a championship mark for the 24-year-old who’ll look to get inside the 24.70 Olympic cut in Saturday evening’s final having already punched her ticket in the 100 back.<\/p>\n

Ryan went 48.55 in the 100 free to cut 0.13 from his Irish record of 48.68 which had stood for six years, a time that also lowered his championship mark.<\/p>\n

The National Centre (Dublin) swimmer secured top seed for the A Final in a European Championships Consideration Time and now has his sights set on the OQT of 48.34.<\/p>\n

In the same event, Evan Bailey set his fourth Irish junior record of the week in 49.90.<\/p>\n

Nathan Wiffen<\/strong> was fastest out of the 1500 freestyle heat in a time of 16:35.80 and heads into Sunday’s final with his sights set on the Olympic Qualification Time (OQT) of 15:00.99.<\/p>\n
