Sprinter Josh Howat Commits to In-State Virginia<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Virginia has received another impressive verbal commitment for its growing Class of 2029, this time from in-state sprinter Josh Howat\u00a0<\/strong>Springfield, Virginia.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Grant Murphy<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Thomas Mercer<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Maximus Williamson<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Thomas Heilman<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Charlottesville.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at University of Virginia. I want to thank all my teammates, coaches, and my family. I wouldn\u2019t be here without them. Thank you to the staff at UVA for giving me this opportunity. GO HOOS!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Howat trains year-round with the renowned Nations Capital Swim Club and earned bronze in the 50m free at NCSA Championships this past spring before going on to take fifth in that event at Eastern Zone super Sectionals earlier this month. Last summer, he placed fifth in the 50m free and sixth in the 100m free at Junior Nationals.<\/p>\n
