Under coach <a href=\"https:\/\/fightingirish.com\/coach\/chris-lindauer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Chris Lindauer<\/strong><\/a>, the future for Notre Dame looks bright. Yet, the sport isn&#8217;t always about victories, best times and achieving qualifying marks for specific competitions. Sometimes, athlete stories go deeper, and that is the case with <strong>Luke Uttley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A Notre Dame captain for the 2023-24 season, Uttley&#8217;s mother passed away after a battle with brain cancer, an event that obviously brought grief and changed Uttley&#8217;s life forever. In this feature by Fighting Irish Media, the story of Uttley is told, including how his mom&#8217;s death led to him feeling &#8220;like I didn&#8217;t have a family.&#8221; However, Uttley&#8217;s
