That\u2019s within reach of his best time of 47.98, set last summer at Phillips 66 Nationals to get him to Worlds. Guiliano also won the 50 free in Indianapolis this weekend. Guiliano\u2019s morning time is a meet record, lowering the 2022 result of 50.67 set by <strong>Gavin Wight.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lilly-king-zach-harting-pick-up-wins-at-the-indy-may-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lilly King, Zach Harting Pick Up Wins at the Indy May Cup<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/alex-shackell-just-off-best-time-with-207-200-fly-at-indy-may-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex Shackell Just off Best Time with 2:07 200 Fly at Indy May Cup<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/natatorium.indianapolis.iu.edu\/24-indy-may-cup\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indy May Cup Meet Page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was a lot of that during the weekend in Indy, a possible indication of the fast swimming to come in that city in less than a month\u2019s time.<\/p>\n<p>The meet record in the women\u2019s 100 free, for instance, was set in 2022 by <strong>Kat Zenick<\/strong> at 55.92. Zenick went 55.87 on Saturday \u2026 and finished eighth, plus got beaten by three in the B final.<\/p>\n<p>The win went to her Ohio State teammate <strong>Amy Fulmer,<\/strong> who went 54.87. She bested Indiana\u2019s <strong>Kristina Paegle<\/strong> by .12. <strong>Gabi Albiero<\/strong> was third in 55.03, followed by <strong>Lindsay Flynn<\/strong> in 55.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ayla Spitz<\/strong> went 2:11.64 to win the women\u2019s 200 backstroke. That time is more than two seconds quicker than the meet record set in 2022 by <strong>Elyse Heiser.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Victoria Buerger<\/strong> was second in 2:12.26, followed by <strong>Charlotte Crush\u2019s<\/strong> 2:12.67. <strong>Ellie Clarke<\/strong> went 2:12.57 from the B final after a rough morning swim for the 14-year-old.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kai Van Westering<\/strong> trounced the meet mark in the men\u2019s 200 back by more than three seconds in the picturesque winning time of 2:00.00. He was .91 up on <strong>Tommy Janton,<\/strong> with <strong>Jackson Millard<\/strong> third in 2:01.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Merani<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 200 individual medley in 2:02.42, just edging out the Michigan duo of <strong>Colin Geer<\/strong> (2:02.79) and <strong>Eitan Ben-Shitrit <\/strong>(2:02.84). <strong>Devon Kitchel<\/strong> led a Michigan 1-2 in the women\u2019s 200 IM, going 2:16.38 to <strong>Hannah Bellard\u2019s<\/strong> 2:16.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kayla Han<\/strong> won the women\u2019s 1,500 free in 16:26.31. She just held off a monstrous time drop from <strong>Gwenyth Woodbury,<\/strong> who lopped 15 seconds off her best to take second in 16:26.34. <strong>Maya Geringer,<\/strong> the former meet record holder from 2022, was six seconds quicker to finish third in 16:33.24.<\/p>\n<p>Teen <strong>Luke Whitlock<\/strong> set a best time in the 800 free by winning in 7:50.20, chopping nearly five seconds off.
