We will do everything possible to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lawsuit-accuses-ex-kentucky-coach-lars-jorgensen-of-sexual-assault-school-accused-of-complicity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suit was filed Friday<\/a> in U.S. District Court by former swimmer and assistant coach <strong>Briggs Alexander<\/strong> and an unidentified former swimmer. The suit is filed against Jorgensen, the university and the athletic director <strong>Mitch Barnhart<\/strong> alleging sexual assault and claims the school &#8220;purposefully&#8221; disregarded multiple reports of the behavior, which Jorgensen has denied. He resigned several months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Barnhart told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/sports\/nba\/kentucky-spokeswoman-school-is-distressed-to-hear-of-alleged-sexual-misconduct-by-ex-swim-coach\/ar-BB1lO6Yv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP<\/a> he could not comment because of the litigation but said, &#8220;We always want to have safety for our student-athletes, our coaches and our staff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another former Kentucky swimmer reported a \u201cforced sexual assault\u201d by Jorgensen to <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/5410705\/2024\/04\/12\/kentucky-swimming-lars-jorgensen-sexual-assault-allegations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All three
