It trims her mark of 2:09.16 set in this same pool last year.<\/p>\n<p>She won the 100 free earlier in the day in 52.72. She was more than 1.5 seconds ahead of the field, with <strong>Sam van<\/strong> <strong>Nunen<\/strong> and <strong>Marie Wattel<\/strong> tying for second in 54.49.<\/p>\n<p>The two times from Steenbergen were the only ones of the day under the Olympic A cut.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/livetiming.knzb.nl\/EQM2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/marrit-steenbergen-hits-156-in-200-free-melvin-imoudu-sets-new-50m-breaststroke-record-at-eindhoven-qualification-meet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eindhoven Qualification Meet Day 1 Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tes-schouten-goes-221-43-for-second-fastest-200m-breaststroke-of-her-career-in-eindhoven\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eindhoven Qualification Meet Day 2 Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2024-olympic-games-coverage-paris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024 Olympics Games Paris Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Barbora Seemanova<\/strong> also navigated the 100 free\/200 IM double, in fifth and second, the latter a time of 2:15.57 that was the only one remotely near Steenbergen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danas Rapsys<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 100 freestyle in 48.55. He was .35 seconds up on <strong>Sean Niewold.<\/strong> Brazil\u2019s <strong>Pedro Spajari<\/strong> was third in 48.93, .01 ahead of <strong>Stan Pijnenburg,<\/strong> who had led the way in prelims in 48.60.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maaike de Waard<\/strong> won the women\u2019s 100 backstroke in 1:00.53. She was more than a second clear of <strong>Lotte Hosper<\/strong>. Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Nika Sharafutdinova<\/strong> was third.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli swimmers took three of the top five spots in the men\u2019s 100 back, led by <strong>Adam Maraana\u2019s<\/strong> win in 54.62. He edged <strong>Cornelius Jahn\u2019s<\/strong> time of 54.83. <strong>Tomer Shuster<\/strong> was third in 55.05, beating Frenchman <strong>Clement Secchi<\/strong> by .02 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The race also produced a Dutch junior record for <strong>Giovanni Phillipson,<\/strong> who went 57.54.<\/p>\n<p>Czechia\u2019s <strong>Miroslav Knedla<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 200 IM in 2:00.62. He overturned a deficit of two tenths of a second on the final 50 meters to overcome <strong>Thomas Jansen<\/strong> by .17 seconds.
