The TYR Pro Swim Series stop in San Antonio continued with the Day 3 prelims on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

The events of the day are the women’s and men’s 200 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 400 IM and 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n

This meet is full of star power as swimmers prepare for the Olympic Trials in the U.S. or the Paris Games for international competitors.<\/p>\n

Meet Results<\/a><\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 Free<\/h2>\n

After skipping the mile and winning the 400 free, Olympic champion Katie Ledecky<\/strong> was back in action with a stellar swim in the prelims of the 200 free.<\/p>\n

Ledecky was the only swimmer in the field to split a sub-30 on the final 50 and earned the top seed in tonight’s final with a swim of 1:56.72.<\/p>\n

The time is about two seconds off the U.S. Open record set by Summer McIntosh<\/strong> at the Pro Series in Fort Lauderdale last year.<\/p>\n

Indiana’s Anna Peplowski<\/strong> took the second seed in 1:57.92, ahead of some big names.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey<\/strong>, the Olympic silver medalist in this event in Tokyo, took the third seed in 1:58.49, followed by Olympian Paige Madden<\/strong> (1:58.81), national teamer Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (1:58.87) and Olympic champion Simone Manuel<\/strong> (1:58.90).<\/p>\n

Israel Olympian Anastasia Gorbenko<\/strong> took the seventh seed (1:59.04), followed by Nicole Maier<\/strong> (2:00.08).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 200 Free<\/h2>\n

Indiana’s Rafael Miroslaw<\/strong> continued his strong meet with the top seed in the men’s 200 free. He got to the wall in 1:47.75.<\/p>\n

Rays’ Carson Foster<\/strong> was just behind in 1:47.86, followed by Cal’s Lucas Heneveaux<\/strong> (1:47.86), the only three to break 1:48 in the field.<\/p>\n

Murilio Sartori<\/strong> took the fourth spot in 1:48.07, followed by Olympians Kieran Smith<\/strong> (1:48.40) and Drew Kibler<\/strong> (1:48.44), Luca Urlando<\/strong> (1:48.45) and Grant House<\/strong> (1:48.51).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 Backstroke<\/h2>\n

Olympian Phoebe Bacon<\/strong>, who won the NCAA championship in the 200 backstroke just a couple of weeks ago, took the top seed in the event with a prelims swim of 2:08.99.<\/p>\n

Olympic teammate now swimming for Wolfpack, Rhyan White<\/strong>, took the second spot in 2:09.11.<\/p>\n

Kennedy Nobl<\/strong>e grabbed the third seed in 2:10.58, ahead of Olympians Regan Smith<\/strong> (2:10.94) and Claire Curzan<\/strong> (2:11.78).<\/p>\n

The final three spots went to Roos Rottink<\/strong> (2:12.91), Aviv Barzelay<\/strong> (2:13.38) and Mabel Koff<\/strong> (2:13.44).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 200 Backstroke<\/h2>\n

Virginia Tech’s Nico Garcia<\/strong> swam to the top seed in the men’s 200 backstroke as the only swimmer to break 1:59 in the event.<\/p>\n

He finished in 1:58.70, ahead of Jack Aikins<\/strong>, who was at 1:59.27, the only other swimmer to break two minutes.<\/p>\n

USC’s Hayden Kwan<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:00.22, followed by Hunter Tapp<\/strong> (2:00.45), David Gerchik<\/strong> (2:00.82), Michael Hochwalt<\/strong> (2:01.08), Gavin Keogh<\/strong> (2:01.74) and Baylor Stanton<\/strong> (2:01.99).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 400 IM<\/h2>\n

After making the finals in the 200 free earlier in the session, Israel’s Anastasia Gorbenko<\/strong> took the top seed in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n

She finished the race in 4:45.94, two seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n

Lucy Bell<\/strong> took the second spot in 4:47.96, followed by Canadian Olympian Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> (4:48.38).<\/p>\n

Virginia All-American Ella Nelson<\/strong> grabbed the fourth seed in 4:49.15, followed by Caroline Bricker<\/strong> (4:49.88), Giulia Goerigk (<\/strong>4:49.89), Applejean Gwinn<\/strong> (4:51.34) and Emerson Callis<\/strong> (4:51.76).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 400 IM<\/h2>\n

NCAA champion and record-holder Leon Marchand<\/strong> set up a three-way battle of Sun Devil Aquatics swimmers in the final of the 400 IM.<\/p>\n

Marchand took the top seed in 4:18.47 as his speed continued into long-course season.<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medalist Chase Kalisz<\/strong> took the second seed in 4:19.73, while Olympic silver medalist Jay Litherland<\/strong> took the third seed in 4:20.37, which could make for a fast and interesting final with the trio who trains together.<\/p>\n

Michael Hochwalt<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 4:21.41, followed by Grant Sanders<\/strong> (4:21.52), Bobby Finke<\/strong> (4:22.55), Danny Berlitz<\/strong> (4:23.11) and Tommy Bried<\/strong> (4:23.37).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 100 Butterfly<\/h2>\n

NCAA champion Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> threw down a strong long-course 100 fly to take the top seed in 56.41 in a stacked field.<\/p>\n

Her time is a second off the world record (55.48, Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong>) and American record (55.64, Torri<\/strong> Huske<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Regan Smith<\/strong> took the second seed in 57.11, ahead of Olympic teammates Huske (57.45), Claire Curzan<\/strong> (58.23) and Alex Walsh<\/strong> (58.70).<\/p>\n

Texas All-American Kelly Pash<\/strong> toko the sixth seed (58.75) ahead of former NCAA champion Beata<\/strong> Nelson<\/strong> (58.97) and Hong Kong Olympian Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> (59.21), completing her daily double.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 100 Butterfly<\/h2>\n

Arizona State’s Hubert Kos<\/strong> took the top seed in the 100 fly in 51.23, just ahead of Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>, who got to the wall in 51.41.<\/p>\n

Dressel won the 100 freestyle from Lane 1 on Thursday as he continues to build to his old form.<\/p>\n

Eric Friese<\/strong> took the third seed in 51.93, followed by Bjoern Kammann<\/strong> (52.14), Youssef Ramadan<\/strong> (52.39), Tobias Schulrath<\/strong> (52.40), Zach Harting<\/strong> (52.48) and Finn Brooks<\/strong> (52.49).<\/p>\n
