Melvin Imoudu Sets German 50m Breaststroke Record At Eindhoven Qualification Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Marrit Steenbergen Hits 1:56 In 200 Free &amp; Melvin Imoudu Sets New 50m Breaststroke Record At Eindhoven Qualification Meet<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> returned to the top of the podium once more and <strong>Melvin Imoudu<\/strong> set a German 50m breaststroke record on day one of the <strong>Eindhoven Qualification Meet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.knzb.nl\/evenementen\/eqm-2024\">Meet page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The four-day meet, which runs from 11-14 April, serves as an opportunity for swimmers to book a place on the Netherlands team for Paris 2024 with the 2023 Fukuoka worlds and Doha having served as selection meets.<\/p>\n<p>The following athletes will be nominated by the KNZB for the Olympics as long as no additional athletes swim inside the qualification times in Eindhoven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>50 free (24.70): Marrit Steenbergen (24.42) and Kim Busch (24.68)<\/p>\n<p>100 free (53.61): Marrit Steenbergen (52.26)<\/p>\n<p>200 free (1.57.26): Marrit Steenbergen\u00a0(1.55.51)<br \/>\n100 back (59.99): Maaike de Waard (59.65) and\u00a0Kira Toussaint\u00a0(59.88)<br \/>\n100 breaststroke (1.06.79): Tes Schouten (1.05.71)<br \/>\n200 breaststroke (2.23.91): Tes Schouten (2.19.81)<br \/>\n200 IM (2.11.47): Marrit Steenbergen\u00a0(2.09.16)<\/p>\n<h4>Men<\/h4>\n<p>50 free (21.96): Kenzo Simons\u00a0(21.73) and Renzo Tjon A Joe (21.88)<br \/>\n200 back (1.57.50): Kai van Westering (1.56.91)<\/p>\n<p>100 breaststroke (59.49): Arno Kamminga (58.71) and\u00a0Caspar Corbeau\u00a0(59.33)<br \/>\n200 breaststroke (2.09.68): Caspar Corbeau (2.07.99) and Arno Kamminga (2.08.30)<br \/>\n100 butterfly (51.67): Nyls Korstanje (50.78)<\/p>\n<p>Steenbergen, who won the 100 free in a 52.26 national record at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, came from 0.20 down at the final turn to overhaul<strong> Barbora Seemanova<\/strong> and stop the clock in 1:56.09.<\/p>\n<p>The Czechia swimmer touched in 1:56.21 with<strong> Imani de Jong<\/strong> more than three seconds adrift in 1:59.21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danas Rapsys<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s race in 1:46.56.<\/p>\n<p>Imoudu went 26.74 to set a new national record in the non-Olympic 50m breaststroke, taking 0.05 from his previous standard of 26.79 from the 2023 German Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> (27.16) and <strong>Arno Kamminga<\/strong> (27.21) were second and third respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christian Diener<\/strong> of Germany won the men&#8217;s 200 back in 1:58.50 with <strong>Niels Dijkshoorn<\/strong> the first Dutchman home in 2:00.18.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nika Sharafutdinova<\/strong> of Ukraine won the women&#8217;s race in 2:13.10 ahead of <strong>Lotte Hosper<\/strong> with the Netherlands swimmer clocking 2:13.10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Femke Spiering<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 200 fly in 2:13.38 while\u00a0Ukrainian <strong>Denys Kesil<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s race in 1:56.63 with <strong>Thomas Jansen<\/strong> the first Dutch swimmer in second in 1:59.78.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marrit Steenbergen Hits 1:56 In 200 Free &amp;
