The TYR Pro Swim Series stop in San Antonio continued with the Day 2 prelims on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

The events of the day are the women’s and men’s 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and 400 freestyle.<\/p>\n

This meet is full of star power as swimmers prepare for the Olympic Trials in the U.S. or the Paris Games for international competitors.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 100 Free<\/h2>\n

The field in the women’s 100 free was as packed as the Olympics will be as far as star power.<\/p>\n

So packed that several Olympians did not make the final.<\/p>\n

Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey<\/strong>, the Olympic silver medalist in this event, took the top seed heading into finals with a 53.67.<\/p>\n

Sun Devil Aquatic’s Simone Manuel<\/strong>, a two-time U.S. Olympian, took the second seed in 53.88, followed by Olympic teammate Torri Huske<\/strong> (53.91).<\/p>\n

Virginia NCAA champion Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 54.00, followed by former college teammate Kate Douglass<\/strong> (54.08).<\/p>\n

Two-time Olympian Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> took the sixth spot in 54.11, followed by Tokyo Olympian Catie DeLoof<\/strong> (54.82) and national team upstart Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (54.92).<\/p>\n

Olympians Kasia Wasick, Claire Curzan, Alex Walsh, Taylor Ruck<\/strong> and Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> were not among the top eight.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 100 Free<\/h2>\n

Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> snuck into the final of the 100 freestyle, snagging the eighth seed in 49.10 in a final full of international stars.<\/p>\n

Rafael Miroslaw<\/strong>, swimming for Indiana, took the top seed in 48.77, ahead of Virginia Tech’s Luis Dominguez Calonge<\/strong> (48.85) and Germany’s Peter Varjasi<\/strong> (48.89).<\/p>\n

Arizona State’s Jonny Kulow<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 48.93, followed by 2016 Olympian Ryan Held<\/strong> (48.95), Louisville’s Andrej Barna<\/strong> (49.03) and Matt King<\/strong> (49.09).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 100 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n

Olympic champion Lydia Jacoby<\/strong> looked in good form in the women’s 100 breast prelims and was one of two swimmers to break 1:07.<\/p>\n

Jacoby got to the wall in 1:06.76 to finish just ahead of fellow Texas swimmer Anna Elendt (<\/strong>1:06.81).<\/p>\n

Olympian Kate Douglass<\/strong> took the third spot in 1:57.57, just ahead of former NCAA champion Kaitlyn Dobler (1:07.88).<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medalist Lilly King<\/strong> tied Argentina’s Macarena Ceballos<\/strong> for the sixth seed in 1:07.90, just ahead of Canadian Olympian Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> (1:08.30).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 100 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n

U.S. Olympian Michael Andrew<\/strong> took the top seed in the 100 breaststroke with an extremely quick 1:00.22.<\/p>\n

Denis Petrashov<\/strong> took the second seed in 1:00.49, followed by Nic Fink<\/strong> (1:00.54), Noah Nichols (1:00.58) and Matthew Fallon<\/strong> (1:00.62).<\/p>\n

Lyubomir Epitriopov<\/strong> was the only other swimmer int he field to break 1:01, finishing in 1:00.89.<\/p>\n

Club Wolverine’s Tommy Cope<\/strong> took the seventh seed in 1:01.28.<\/p>\n

The eighth spot was a tie between Carles Coll Marti<\/strong> and Andy Dobrzanski<\/strong> (1:01.39). Coll Marti won the swim off in 1:00.74 to Dobrzanski’s 1:02.32.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 200 Butterfly<\/h2>\n

Regan Smith<\/strong> predictably took the top seed in the 200 butterfly, crushing the field by nearly four seconds to finish in 2:05.92.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, also predictably, three Texas swimmers were in the next five seeds heading into finals.<\/p>\n

Former Texas All-American Dakota Luther<\/strong> took the second spot in 2:09.55, just ahead of Arizona State’s Lindsay Looney<\/strong> (2:10.29).<\/p>\n

Texas NCAA champion Emma Sticklen<\/strong> took the fourth seed in 2:11.45, ahead of Leah Gingrich<\/strong> (2:11.84).<\/p>\n

Texas All-American Kelly Pash<\/strong> took the sixth spot in 2:11.95, ahead of Tess Howley<\/strong> and Caroline<\/strong> Bricker<\/strong>, who tied for seventh at 2:12.08.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 200 Butterfly<\/h2>\n

Four swimmers were within 13 hundredths of a second from each other in the prelims of the 200 butterfly on the men’s side – and three train with Sun Devil Aquatics.<\/p>\n

Olympic champion Chase Kalisz<\/strong> took the top seed in 1:57.54, ahead of Dart’s Luca Urlando<\/strong> (1:57.64).<\/p>\n

Arizona State NCAA champion Leon Marchand<\/strong> took the third seed in 1:57.675, ahead of teammate Ilya Kharun<\/strong> (1:57.67).<\/p>\n

Jack Dahlgren<\/strong> (1:58.03), Trenton Julian<\/strong> (1:59.02), Zach Harting<\/strong> (1:59.15) and Vili Sivec<\/strong> (1:59.55) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Women’s 400 Free<\/h2>\n

Katie Ledecky<\/strong> was well ahead of the field in prelims as expected and took the top seed in the 400 free in 4:02.72.<\/p>\n

Ledecky was the fastest by nearly seven seconds. She did not compete in the 1500 free and unleashed a stellar prelims swim, looking like a sub-4 is possible in the finals.<\/p>\n

Paige Madden<\/strong>, who won the 1500 on Wednesday, took the second seed in 4:09.41.<\/p>\n

Jillian Cox<\/strong> was third in 4:10.41, ahead of Stanford’s Aurora Roghair<\/strong> (4:11.19), Texas’ Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (4:11.80) and Indiana’s Anna Peplowski<\/strong> (4.12.90).<\/p>\n

TYR Pro Swim Series: Men’s 400 Free<\/h2>\n

Guilherme Costa<\/strong> led a trio of sub-3:50s in the men’s 400 free to close out the session.<\/p>\n

Costa finished in 3:49.42 to earn the top seed in tonight’s final.<\/p>\n

Cal’s Lucas Heneveaux<\/strong> was second at 3:49.67, followed by Alfonso Mestre<\/strong> (3:49.79).<\/p>\n

Carson Foster<\/strong> took the fourth spot at 3:50.27, ahead of David Johnston<\/strong> (3:50.65) and Ilia Sibertsev<\/strong> (3:50.67).<\/p>\n

Kieran Smith<\/strong> took the seventh seed (3:51.48) and Drew Kibler<\/strong> grabbed the eighth (3:51.38), which left Bobby Finke<\/strong> and Jay Litherland<\/strong> just outside the final.<\/p>\n
