THE TYR Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions kicks off tomorrow afternoon in Mission Viejo, with a handful of top swimmers scheduled to compete in the meet honoring the late Fran Crippen, who passed away in an open water race in 2010.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/_Rainbow\/Documents\/860cdc40-e708-4a44-8f8f-f935d8a30886\/Fran%20Crippen-Psych.pdf\">Psych Sheet: TYR Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, national team members Jessica Hardy, Ashley Steenvoorden, Kiera Janzen and Kendyl Stewart headline the psych sheet, along with past and present national high school record-holders Abbey Weitzeil, Jasmine Mau and Katie McLaughlin. Weitzeil, Mau and McLaughlin will face one another in the 100 freestyle, where they\u2019re seeded third through fifth, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of collegiate standouts dot the men\u2019s psych sheets with the likes of Cal\u2019s Seth Stubblefield and Tyler Messerschmidt, USC\u2019s Cristian Quintero and Arizona\u2019s Giles Smith all scheduled to race. Canadians Jeremy Bagshaw, Kier Maitland and Eric Hedlin will also make the trip to southern California.<\/p>\n<p>The meet gets underway tomorrow with timed finals in the women\u2019s 800m free and men\u2019s 1500m free.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MISSION VIEJO, California, June 25.
