NCAA Men’s Championships: With ‘Nothing to Lose, Nothing to Prove,’ Lyle Yost Repeats on 1-Meter<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ohio State diver Lyle Yost<\/strong> was a much different diver when he got on the boards Thursday at the 2024 NCAA Championships than when he won a title a year earlier.<\/p>\n

The task was the same. But as a national champion, a student teacher and a well-traveled veteran, the diver was different.<\/p>\n

The result stayed the same.<\/p>\n

Yost repeated as the 1-meter champion at the 2024 NCAA Championships, scoring 433.55 points to win.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a different field, it\u2019s a different year, it\u2019s a different competition,\u201d the Ohio State senior said. \u201cNothing\u2019s the same. But at the same time, you\u2019ve got to go out there and put six dives in the water from last year. That\u2019s the same. Nothing to lose, nothing to prove.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was ahead of the Indiana duo of Quentin Henninger<\/strong> and Carson Tyler.<\/strong> Henninger scored 427.20, Tyler 412.95. Jack Ryan,<\/strong> last year\u2019s bronze medalist, was fourth with 402.55.<\/p>\n
