Hobson finished with the third seed for finals in 4:10.28.<\/p>\n<p>The first circle-seeded heat went to Georgia&#8217;s Magahey, who finished in 4:09.36.<\/p>\n<p>The next went to Texas senior <strong>Coby Corrozza<\/strong>, who finished in 4:10.74, just ahead of Auburn&#8217;s <strong>Mason<\/strong> <strong>Mathias<\/strong> (4:10.82).<\/p>\n<p>The final heat featured Arizona State&#8217;s<strong> Leon Marchand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Marchand took the early lead with a 21.65 first 50 and a 45.43 first 10, 1:10.01 at the 150, 1:35.26 at the 200, 2:00.81 at the 250, 2:26.67 at the 300, 2:52.76 at the 350, 3:18.81 at the 400, 3:44.53 at the 450. He finished in 4:09.54 to take the second seed overall.<\/p>\n<p>Cal&#8217;s <strong>Gabriel Jett<\/strong> and Florida&#8217;s <strong>Jake Mitchell<\/strong> hung close and Jett made a late push and took second in 4:10.61. Lasco,<\/strong> the American record holder in the 200 IM, was in the sixth of eight heats in prelims but surged to the top seed in 1:39.34, the only swimmer to break 1:40 in the morning heats, breaking the pool record.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona State&#8217;s <strong>Hubert Kos<\/strong> took the second seed in 1:40.40 and Michigan&#8217;s <strong>Gal Groumi<\/strong> was third (1:40.54).<\/p>\n<p>The seventh heat was a tie between NC State&#8217;s <strong>Arsenio Bustos<\/strong> and <strong>David Schlicht<\/strong> of Arizona State, both finishing in 1:40.72, to tie for the fourth seed.<\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M&#8217;s <strong>Baylor Nelson<\/strong> took the sixth seed in 1:41.23, followed by Arizona State&#8217;s <strong>Owen<\/strong> <strong>McDonald<\/strong> (1:41.24) and Texas freshman <strong>Nate Germonprez<\/strong> (1:41.35).<\/p>\n<p>The NCAA record holder is Marchand, who did not swim the event this year (1:36.34).<\/p>\n<pre><b>Event 4  Men 200
